Could I work at home without a social security number?

I’m planning to work at home(sideline)through internet businesses like writing papers online and make a money. However, I’m handling a Dependent visa through my mom who has an H1 visa (working visa) in the US. They said that you can’t work with your dependent visa only but it’s based online. So is it possible?

Any money you earn is reported to the Government through 1099′s from whoever you do work for. So YES you need a ssn and you need to file taxes yearly along with paying what you owe.

Is it true that if sent home that is always guaranteed a certain amount of salary?

Ok, so someone told me that if you say works full time for your employer and they send you home early to tell you not to come late and do not work six hours or more, are still necessary for you to pay at least 6 hours of wages per hour of that day. I tried to explain better than me, does anyone understand or know if this is really a law (at least in Wisconsin)?

Such Once the funky rules in Wisconsin, but I do not know of any circumstances that might work as you describe. Your employer has to pay for hours worked. Now, there may be other factor not know – can be required to pay their personal time or vacation, or (more likely I think), you may need to completely change your state if you work part-time consistently less than six hours a day.
