Are there any legitimate work-at-home online opportunities out there?
I’m not talking about a get-rich-quick scheme. Just a second job that I can work at home in the evenings that’s worthwhile. Something based and paid on performance maybe?
I think Affiliate Marketing is the best way to go.
Basically you promote products that are sold online and you get paid a commission per sale. You can work with known companies such as eBay, Amazon.com, WalMart and many other.
The great thing about it, you can start that whole business completely free! However, you will need to invest some time and effort to see the results, but it seems like you already understand that “Get-Rich-Quick-Schemes” just don’t work – so that’s a good thing.

Accounting Software?
I had some accounting training 20 years ago, and it was the old school method with paper journals, ledgers, and worksheets. At the time, my class was just being introduced to dBase, Word Perfect, and Lotus1-2-3.
I am currently teaching myself Microsoft Office Suite, at home.
Should I also learn Quicken and Peachtree, to stay competitive in the job market for positions such as: bookeeper/accounting clerk?
I have been working in circuit board assembly, and my office skills have become rusty. What courses/software applications are currently in demand in the accounting/financial job market?
Look in the newspapers, help wanted, on line jobs etc..
See what each company advertising wants, or requires, you to know, or be familiar with.
