I'm trying to decide to become a dental assistant or entering the medical billing and coding (both cert.)?
I have not worked for 12 years (mother living at home). Want to start part-time for at least 2-5 years. Interested in both actually. Is it better than other people's money is wise? current plan for the certification program at a local university to be. I live in Maryland.
If you enjoy working with people directly, and the ability to do things different from one patient to another, rather than the same type of routine office-type position, then I would say the Dental Assisting is the best option. In fact, I spent training for dental assistant for 13 years, Iowa Personally, I do not like, so I changed it in other works in an office type setting. I'm thinking of myself back to school for medical billing and coding. From what I saw in my research, I believe that the medical billing and coding would be best for payment. You may also consider the training of medical assistants, I think it has a lot of basic classes such as Medical Billing coding …. In general, about the same amount of time for each of the three programs at a local university. Good luck in whatever you decide!
