I want to work at home answering calls by computer for doctors or medical groups. Any suggestions?
I am in New York state, near cities of Ithaca, Corning, Geneva, Elmira and Seneca Falls. I would like to use my computer to answer medical calls, set up appointments, advise patients if they need to go to hospital or call ambulance or call 911. Do you know of any medical groups that are employing for this work at home?
Most groups use a professional service to handle calls–you could contact those & see what their requirements are. There a pretty strict legal and privacy issues at work here (HIPPA) so you could NOT advise patients at all (to call 911 or hospital etc) and using a personal computer to set up appointments is also fairly regulated. Nose around and see what the pros are doing.

moms-which one would you rather do, stay at home or work fulltime, part time, at home?
i have a daughter who is 1 year in september, i plan on going to school to be a midwife in september. those of you that work, i just want to know, all the other mothers experience with working/not working while having children.
do you wish you had more time to spend with your children/spouse/partner?
does your income really make a difference or does it all go out to childcare?
also what kind of childcare do you have-daycare, nanny. mother/in law?
how do you feel about that?
and if you went through college with children how difficult was that?
I’m lucky in that i work full time but my job is flexible so I can put in many hours from home. I have a nanny that takes care of my kids in my home when I go to the office, through they will be starting preschool soon. My income makes a difference because I am a single mother (by choice). I wouldn’t really want to be a full time stay at home mom, but some women love that and to each their own. Ideally, I’d love to work half time in the office and half time at home (I don’t quite do that now).
I love having a nanny that comes to my home. I think it’s good for my kids to stay in their home environment (not to say they don’t have play groups and other activities away from the home, lol). A friend recommended how to find a good part-time nanny and I agree it’s a great method. I live in a huge city that has several large universities. I contacted the head of the Child Development program at each of the universities and inquired about students that they would recommend for a nanny position. I found a great woman who goes to school part time and is majoring in child psychology. It’s the prefect arrangement. She will be getting ready to graduate right after my kids are in elementary school so I won’t need someone in the home and since she’s going straight into grad school she’s still interested in baby-sitting at times.
