Need help with my French speech?
I am French, I was born in Lille, France. My father was a a professor of philosophy and literature at a Jesuit college, and my mother Jeanne Maillot came from a well off family, and was simply a housewife. I had to move to UK (long story why) and settled in Berkhamstead were I worked in politics, for military and on the radio, broadcasting. But now, I can return home to France! I am really happy about it, and I was given an opportunity to broadcast my last speech. I wrote it all myself, but now I am worried that my French became rusty, or maybe I sound to affected? What do you think about this beginning:
“La guerre est gagnée! Voici la Victoire! C’est la Victoire des Nations Unies et c’est la Victoire de la France!! and such an ending:
“Ah! Vive la France!”.
Should I change them or not? Are there any mistakes in this? What should I do?
