Work at home?

I’m a college student and am looking for something I can do at home. I need extra money to help with my expenses. All the work at home ads I’ve seen on the internet or in the paper require a deposit, but after some research I have found that most of those companies just send a book.

I don’t need a book. I need an actual job.

My question : Does anyone know of a company that is legit. Not one that I have to pay for them to send me ‘advice’. Stuffing envelopes, assembling products, etc. is ideal. But any help is appreciated!

The following website is an excellent resource for someone looking to work from home aka telecommute. Below is a list of companies from the website. If you go to the website, you will see links to the companies.

Hope this helps and good luck in school!

work at home stuffing mail
Do people interested in work-at-home jobs tend…?

…to become defrauded? I received a letter with information about working from home. It mentioned to send $40 in order to get the necessary materials to get started. As a result, I received an employment hand booklet with many different types of jobs to do from home. I then sent a letter requesting envelope stuffing to an address from the booklet. I ended up getting the letter I mailed back saying the address couldn’t be found. When I tried calling the number on another registration sheet that I had, there wasn’t anyone available, and a message would give instructions for submitting the registration form for the work-at-home jobs. I didn’t think I’d fall for fraud once more as I did once in the past, but it happpened. I now know to not read any letter whatsoever that mentions something that requires me to send money either for jobs or to win money.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

You were scammed, but don’t feel bad because a lot of people fall for them. I’ve been teaching a class since the winter on how to avoid it. The truth is, there are not legitimate work from home jobs. Data entry, assembly, and even envelope stuffing are fake. Never ever send money to anyone offering to pay you to work from home, but I’m sure you know that now.

They like to prey on desperate people who may not have a lot of experience with the internet. Most job postings that look flashy and super attractive are often not what they seem.

I’ve had clients do some outrageous things. Check this video out from a local news station http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/dpp/news/Victim_of_Shopper_Scam_Ends_Up_in_Jail_073009 some offers ask you to do illegal things, like this woman did. She’s lucky, no charges are planning to be filed agianst her.
